How to Use a Prorated Rent Table
A rent proration table allows landlords, property managers, and incoming tenants to quickly cross-reference partial-month charges without manually recalculating fractions.
Move-In Calculation Formula
Count from your move-in date through the final day of the calendar month inclusive. If you move in on September 20th in a 30-day month, you occupy the property for 11 days (30 - 20 + 1 = 11). Cross-reference row 11 with your monthly rent tier.
Move-Out Calculation Formula
Count from the 1st of the month through your official key handover date inclusive. If you vacate on the 14th, you occupy 14 days. Look up row 14 under your monthly rent column.
